This brand new original Carpe Viam design celebrates Porsche's participation in the 4th running of the Carrera Panamericana with a brand new original illustration, and typography recreated from the original 1953 poster and program cover. The Fletcher Aviation logo is printed on the left sleeve. An "Art Shirt" with no text is also available here.
In 1953, the upstart sports car company Porsche shipped three 550's to North America to race in the Carrera Panamericana "Mexico". The cars were hand painted with a livery dramatically featuring their collaboration with Fletcher Aviation. This was no simple sponsorship, the two young companies were collaborating on lightweight, air-cooled aircraft engines and engaged in a mutually beneficial promotion and photoshoot.
This new Art Shirt celebrates the collaboration of these two young companies, and the changing of corporate sponsorship and livery of race cars that forever followed.
Printed on a high quality light gray blend. 4.2-oz. with 30 singles (fine thread) for extreme softness.
