In all of my scouring of the internet, I’ve only ever been able to find two photos of the old Competition Motors location on Vine St in Hollywood. For a while now, I’ve been sketching new perspectives that would allow me to tell more of a story, while staying accurate to the architecture and details in every way. Just look at that streetlight, and the PO dropbox, and the striped stop sign post. It’s all about the details…
This new art creates a day in the life at Competition Motors, with a period-correct rotation of Porsche, Volkswagen, and Jaguar inventory. As well as the Le Mans-winning 356 Gmünd SL 063 (very recently arrived in the USA) wearing its 1952 Golden Gate Park Road Races livery, and the “Lil Bastard” 550 Spyder visible through the showroom glass.
Printed on a superior gray blend—60% combed ring-spun cotton and 40% polyester—this premium tee is pre-laundered for dependable sizing. Woven with 30 singles, it's soft and lightweight, with a little stretch and strength that lasts.
This original art is also available as a Limited Edition of 50 archival pigment prints.
