This new sweatshirt celebrates that weekend with Dean winning both his class and overall, and returning the next day to win his class again. For this medium weight, "garage pocket" sweatshirt, I've painstakingly recreated and assembled graphics and typography from original period sources.
FRONT: The script on the shirt front was painstakingly recreated by hand from a skewed old photograph of the original signage. The “Sales & Service”, “Speed Tuning”, and “Hollywood California” lettering is an exact reproduction from a 1951 Competition Motors ad in Road & Track.
BACK: The oversized 23F is an exact recreation of the racing number carried by Dean's Speedster when he won at Palm Springs. While the Palm Springs “crest” is my recreation of an embroidered patch design from the venue.
Printed on a natural-colored (or navy), vintage-inspired crewneck with a classic "kangaroo" front pocket, it's a wearable celebration of racing history.
The design is printed on a substantial yet comfortable 7.3 oz. cotton/poly fleece crewneck with a 100% cotton face, and a kangaroo pocket.
